World Premiere: “VETS Break it Down with The PGK Dance Project” featuring Guest Company: Nannette Brodie Dance Theater (Long Beach, CA) Culmination of a California Arts Council funded: Veterans Initiative in the Arts collaboration between Artistic Director, Peter Kalivas of The PGK Dance Project with his dancers, Barry Toombs and the Westwind Brass, Tony “the Vet” LoBue (spoken word), and Improvisational Watercolorist Brian Meyer.Nannette Brodie Dance Theater, who is also the recipient of the Veterans Arts Initiative grant from the California Arts Council performs: “Report for Duty at 08hundred” June 30th, 2017 ONE NIGHT ONLY at 730pm

“VETS Break it Down” with PGK Dance


The Westwind Brass Ensemble accompanying The PGK Dance Project in “Break it Down” featuring the music of famed drummer Buddy Rich followed by their own selections.

Tony “the Vet” LoBue recites “live” a spoken word script for a new dance work by Kalivas around Veteran Suicide and transitioning back to civilian life.

Brian Meyer, organically and “in the moment” creates a Watercolor based art show inspired by and reflecting the evenings events, activities which becomes the backdrop for the performance as well.

Additional Guest performers include: 

The Del Mar Ballet and Anna Brown, Musicians: Molly Mapes, Tea’ Carpenter and Barbara Schoenhofer with Rayme Sciaroni and Peter Kalivas
